FEATURE

11. Consumables Management

Every box logs which packaging materials it used — costs are clear and traceable.

Pain Points

  • Cardboard boxes, bubble bags, tape — daily consumption isn't tracked at all.
  • Month-end stocktake reveals supplies are nearly out, and emergency reordering can't keep up.
  • No rules on which channels use which box types — staff grab whatever's nearest, big boxes get used for small items, packaging waste piles up.

Core Highlights

01

Master data for every consumable — dimensions and weight set once

Each packaging item (cardboard box, bubble bag, padding, etc.) gets its own master record with barcode, dimensions, weight, and cost. When the carrier API is called for a tracking number, the system passes along the packaging's L×W×H and weight automatically — no manual entry, more accurate shipping fees.

02

QC packing logs consumption automatically

When operators pack during QC, they select the packaging used and the system binds the consumable to that parcel. Every box's box type, padding type, and quantities are recorded — usage can be queried later by outbound order, date, or tenant.

03

Per-channel box-type rules, standardised packaging

Different sales channels can be bound to dedicated packaging — Shopee orders use Box A, Momo uses Box B. During QC the system pre-selects the channel-specific options so operators don't have to decide — packaging stays consistent per channel.

04

Low-stock alerts — no more emergency reordering

Each consumable can have a safety-stock threshold; when stock drops below it the system fires an alert. Reorder in advance — no more discovering you're out of cardboard mid-shift.

05

Per-tenant consumable management

Different tenants in a 3PL warehouse may use their own dedicated packaging. The system supports tenant-level consumable master data as well as warehouse-shared consumables — both coexist without conflict.

More Capabilities

  • 01Consumable barcode scanning: each packaging type can have its own barcode for fast selection during QC
  • 02Auto-calculated volume: dimensions translate into volume automatically, in cubic meters or cubic feet
  • 03Bin locations for consumables: record where each packaging type is stored for quick retrieval
  • 04Tenant-side management: tenants can manage their own consumable records from their portal — no need to go through the warehouse
